Mike McDaniel continues to back K Jason Sanders despite struggles

While the Miami Dolphins' 7-3 record through their first 10 games of the 2022 season,

there have been a few areas of their team that haven't gone according to plan.

Jason Sanders' performance has been lacking despite the addition of seasoned punter Thomas Morstead to hold on attempts.

The second-lowest percentage of his career, Sanders has made just 13 of his 17 field goal tries this season (76.5%).

The lowest percentage in his career was achieved when he made 27 out of 30 extra-point attempts (90%) for points.

While there have been struggles, head coach Mike McDaniel backed up his kicker.

McDaniel said, "He's given me no reason to assume that he won't get the things corrected.

Because you are only one soft tissue (injury) away, especially at those positions, we always do it regardless of position to ensure that you are up to speed on your backup plans.

But I have no reason to believe it since, first and foremost, Jason is very critical of himself and has high standards for himself, so he expects more.

However, it would be different if he had given me any reason to believe that he couldn't repair it

So long as he doesn't demonstrate differently, we're satisfied with our relationship with him.
