Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Manchester United with immediate effect

The English Premier League team Manchester United confirmed on Tuesday that Cristiano Ronaldo is departing with immediate effect.

The decision, which comes a week after Ronaldo delivered an emotional TV interview about his displeasure at the club, was made by mutual consent, according to a brief statement from United.

The club expressed gratitude for his enormous contribution over his two stints at Old Trafford, where he scored 145 goals in 346 games, and best wishes for the future to him and his family.

Everyone at Manchester United is still committed to advancing the group's achievements under Erik ten Hag and collaborating to produce results on the field.

Ronaldo stated on Monday that the timing of his most recent remarks about United wouldn't interfere with his Portuguese teammates' focus while they were competing for Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar.

Prior to the commencement of the World Cup, TalkTV released an interview with Piers Morgan in which Ronaldo discussed how he felt deceived by United and how he had no regard for boss ten Hag.

With Ronaldo's departure from United, the 37-year-old's second stint at the club comes to a bitter and depressing end. He scored just once in this season's 10 Premier League appearances.

He has primarily been used as a replacement by Ten Hag, and last month, with minutes left in the game against Tottenham Hotspur, he declined to enter the field and chose to proceed down the tunnel instead.
